i can look at myself from a distance
i can watch me walk right by
somewhere warm is a heart that's beating
but the rest of me has long since died
and i imagine us from a distance
with two hellos and one goodbye
somewhere deep the potential is building
but the rest of us has already cried
and i have hope that a flower is growing
in a quiet place on a mountainside
but her fragile beauty will never be noticed
cause the rest of the world has long turn blind
and had i known that her spirit was drowning
i'd have faked a smile and left that night
with my conscience light as the voice of an angel
and my feet weighed down like a mother's heart
cause someone told me the darkness is brighter
where the flower grows on the mountainside
but my tragedy is never to meet her
cause my arms are numb and my legs won't climb

seems that sooner rather than later
life lets you know how it is
you ought not be living
by all standards but your own
humanity will be more pleased
to not have you there
even if you make up part of definition normal
but that is so far from the end it should look like the start
you know you've started living when self criticism is your friend
you sense you might just be alive
when staying still, not moving, staying still
feels like dying
but if self pleasure lasts too long
if self love becomes to strong
hit me, kick me, shut me down
before the shame
for i was the last to orbit
and i'm never coming back down
if down means ground and ground means still
and still means lack of sound
some things you really could have told me
most things i really should have known
yeah i'm not losing time
looking for someone to blame
forgot how to tell a story
something outside my world
outside my brain
